The first Fleming’s Steakhouse appeared in 1998 in Newport Beach, California. It was opened by Paul Fleming and Bill Allen and named after the former. Since that time, the contemporary take on an American classic has opened all over the United States including right here in Scottsdale. There are two locations in Scottsdale, making it easy to get your steak fix no matter where you are. Old Town or up north, it’s always a good time to go to Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar.

One taste of Executive Chef Russell Skall’s food, and you’ll know why Fleming’s is so popular. Only the finest, juiciest USDA aged prime beef is served here. Of course, what is a steakhouse without a little seafood? There’s plenty to choose from on the appetizers from a chilled seafood tower for two, to Baked Brie, Pan Crisped Pork Belly, and more. If you’re not too hungry, the small plates are the way to go with choices like Lobster Tempura, to Sliced Filet Mignon, you can’t go wrong. Even the salads here are special. Try Fleming’s Salad with candied walnuts and dried cranberries, or a Modern Caesar that includes fried capers and crisp prosciutto chips. Generous portions for your sides arrive so you’ll have plenty to enjoy whether you like Sauteed French Green Beans or Fleming’s potatoes made with jalapenos, cream, and cheddar cheese. Whether you want chicken, ribs, or seafood, you’ll find selections to keep you satisfied here.

Of course, the main attraction here is the steak. Whether a Porcini Rubbed Filet Mignon, Prime Ribeye, or Peppercorn New York Strip catch your eye, you really can’t go wrong. Feel free to get the biggest steak you’d like. If you can’t finish it all, Fleming’s will wrap it up for you to enjoy the next day. Visit the website for recipe ideas and warming instructions for your leftover steak. You can be sure it will be just as good the second time around. That way, you have room for dessert. Everything from the sinful to the trim is available. Try their Crème Brulee, or for something lighter, Fresh Berries with Chantilly Cream.

If you’re just stopping in after work, try Flemings 5 for $6 til 7 menu. It’s 5 cocktails, 5 wines by the glass and 5 appetizers for $6 each, served at the bar until 7 p.m. There are many tempting selections to try at the bar such as Tenderloin Carpaccio and French Quarter Barbecue Shrimp. If you’d like something larger, try the Bar la Carte menu. These are big enough to share, and are quicker than sitting down for a full meal. You’ll love Fleming’s Original Prime Rib Melt or Filet Mignon Flatbread. The wine and cocktails here are out of this world. Fun names grace the libations like Shades of Rose and the Retropolitain. The only thing as popular as the steak at Fleming’s is the wine. There are 100 wines offered by the glass, and a special Fleming’s reserve menu for wine offered by the bottle. There are so many wines offered, you may have to come again and again just to try them all. Wine tasting flights are offered so you can find your favorites quickly.

Fleming’s has been popular not only for it’s food, but because of their principles and beliefs. These values are trust, fun, excellence, balance, respect, and hospitality. It makes it a great place to be an employee, or a guest. Even their newsletter is called Friends of Fleming’s. Join in on their site for contests, news, and to purchase a gift card. You can be sure that your night here will be a memorable experience of food, wine, and exceptional service.
